The strips of paper are twisted slightly and then chained, or close together, as a monochrome plain, even in a two-tone striped pattern. In some items, the yarns consist of cute, intertwined loops as if they were crocheted.
Matte paper yarns are sometimes enhanced with a subtle pearlescent sheen that gives them a sophisticated yet natural look.
Bright shades of purple, cherry, turquoise, and coral red alternate with softer colors than celadon green, plum, ivory, fresh gray, or golden straw.
