Miracle stone

Mica or “vermiculite” is a mineral formed during the chemical reaction between quartz and granite. When exposed to extreme heat, the mineral expands to 2000 or even 3000% of its original size in a spectrum of brilliant colors. The properties of this mineral have been known in Japan for 6 centuries.

The graphite collection includes endless variations of mica: the popularly textured mica is combined with mica shells, mica mixed with recycled paper, or mixed-size mica with a very natural look. Some elements are printed in Japanese Zen gardens with a pattern reminiscent of raked sand, others are embossed with metallic foil, in a tiny, square design, or in an elegant wave.
